My English experience in college

Imagen
My English background before this series of courses in college was really bad, if I have to qualify my level of this language from 1 to 10, 1 being painfully bad and 10 pretty awesome English teacher, I would definitely be more towards the painfully bad level. Learning English in college has been a really difficult path, but I can definitely say that I have seen my progress, especially in my writing and reading skills. Regrettably because of online classes I couldn’t progress enough as if it was in the classroom with my classmates and a teacher this past couple of years. My favorite part of this subject have been doing blogs, its an awesome experience specially because I get to know the experiences of my classmates and interact with them in a different way of what I am used to. One of the most difficult aspects of learning English for me is the speaking part, pronunciation and fluidity are skills that I am really lacking. For improving this skills my boyfriend have told me that i

Changes to my study programme

Water is the future The curriculum of our career is lacking in a lot of aspects, especially in some that are really important for our development as professionals and that could improve a lot our value as workers. One of them is a subject that was long ago an important part of our curriculum, this is hidrology, the study of water and all things around it. I consider that this subject as a vital part of our formation, more now given the present state of water availability in the world due to climate change. Also water is irreplaceable in most of the industry present here in Chile and around the world. Becouse this reasons I think that hidrology should be part of our curriculum. Also to be more specific I think that this part of the curriculum should have one obligatory subjet  for semester the last two years of the career, this subjects should be, hidrology, basin management, hydrogeology and water management. All of this linked with the current study of the climate change, the environm

Time travel to the future

A FUTURE EXPLORING OTHER PLANETS Well, today I’m going to write about the future, specifically where I would like to be and go. It is known that our imagination about the future can go wild, especially with all the fiction in things like books, movies, or series, that in his majority agree that in like 500 or more years we should be able to travel to the stars, other systems and even get to know other sentient beings and wildlife in the galaxy. I would like to be there, in that time 500 years in the future, where I can explore new planets with different beings and environments, catch the sensation of discovery every time that I move through space, be in a group of explorers of unknown lands and planets, describing new wildlife unique to a recently discovered planet. This could be even better if I could live a prolonged life due to the new technology of the time, I even imagine that life expectancy of humanity will increase to new heights like 120 or more years of a good life. I w

My future job

My dream work as forest engineer   I would love to work as a forest engineer in a company, NGO or Public Service that dedicates to conservation of biodiversity, obviously in an area related to trees conservation, study of plagues and other hazards that can affect them. I imagine that it would be outdoors, walking under big dense forests in south Chile, doing field work and researching the state of different species of the zone where i am working. Preferably I would like to work between “Región de Los Rios” and “Región de Aysen” in the south of our country. In the future I imagine my self living in the countryside of southern Chile, surrounded by dense native forests, and near the location of my dream work, so I don’t have to travel a lot, immerse in the beauty of this part of my country. My earnings could be something that allows me to live a peaceful life in the countryside and travel to see my family or vacation from time to time. Also in the near future I would like to speci

The Best Field Trip EverThe Best Field Trip Ever

When do you went to the field trip? For which class it was? Where did you go? Why do you went there? What things did you learn there?   Viña del Mar Botanic Garden In our first year as forest engineering students, we went to a field trip with our Biotics class to the beautiful city of Viña del Mar, also known as “Viña” or “Garden City”. We weren’t there for any reason, we were there because in Viña is located one of the most complete and amazing botanic gardens of all the country. The Botanic Garden of Viña del Mar is home of a diverse number of plant species, for that reason we went there, to learn to recognize different kind of species and get to know new ones. Our assignment was simple, get a group of five random people, recognize different kind of plant taxon’s, and deliver this to the teacher. The beauty of the trip was in the new and fascinating plants that we studied and see, like for example the Toromiro ( Sophora toromiro ) , a plant so rare that is extinct in nature

My favourite movie

¿Which is my favorite movie? ¿When was it released? ¿What is it about? ¿Who are his main characters? ¿What the movie is trying to represent or tell? ¿What lesson(s) it leaves? Lilo and Stich Lilo and Stich, is the only movie that I have watched fully more than 10 times, is an animated movie that released in 2002, when I was only 3 years old, but despite this I grow up watching this movie over and over again, even today I enjoy it as It was the first time that I saw it. This animated movie from Disney is, in the surface, about Stich, a rogue alien that was created by an intergalactic scientist, that became friend with a Hawaiian girl named Lilo, and they have super fun adventures trying to understand each other and hiding from the intergalactic police that is hunting down Stich. But on the bottom, the movie is about how love and respect can change even the most twisted of beings, this because Stich is a representation of some kind of “Frankenstein”, that is created by someone an

The best Holidays ever

It’s commonly thought that the northern part of our country (Chile), its full of flat, boring and dirty landscapes, with cities like Copiapo or Calama vilified among the more southerner’s habitants of Chile like us. My mindset about this was bias, but my experience going on vacation to “Pan de Azucar” National Park completely change my mindset. On holiday 2021 more specifically between February 7 and 17, I traveled with my parents to Pan de Azucar National Park, which its located on the coastal side of the Atacama Region, it’s important to note that this was during the pandemic that we all have suffered this last year and a half. We set camp in the camping sites available inside the park, and from there we managed to do activities like trekking (a lot) and photography of wildlife, but more importantly, we connected with this beautiful environment put in front of us. Since there this trip was transformed in a deep learning about how a desertic, sometimes flat, environment can be beautif
